Measure What Matters! – 2024 Survey Is Here

We have come to an exciting time of year: the Measure What Matters 2024 survey has been released! This is an annual assessment created by New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility. As a committee member for MWM, I am sharing what makes it worth your time.

To start, the survey is released annually. This means you can check in on your progress every single year. Results can also be used in your company’s annual impact report, as the MWM survey covers the biggest sustainability topics year over year. The survey is simple and shorter than many other assessment tools, making this an easy start for companies who want to engage in sustainability.

Because this survey is made by a New Hampshire organization with input from New Hampshire companies, it is sensitive to the complexities of doing business in the Granite State. When you receive your results, you are being compared to similarly sized organizations in NH. Particularly in sustainability work, it can be easy for all the space to be taken up by the NYC and West Coast business activity. With NHBSR, that won’t happen.

Furthermore, NBHSR’s year-round programming is guided by and supportive of the survey. If you have questions or need advice on the survey, there are people available to help you. The organization’s resources and community will help you improve your MWM score with webinars, workshops, and peer support.

If you want to be truly sustainable, you need to measure things and know where to put your resources. Transparency and accountability are essential for progress. As a consultant, getting data like that collected by the MWM survey is the first step in any project. (Pro tip: if you want to hire me but save a little on my contract prices, do your own assessment through this survey first and then hire me to improve your results.)

NHBSR is holding a Networking Social this Friday, December 6, 2024. Beforehand is a workshop for companies to complete the Measure What Matters survey. I would highly recommend folks attend!
